[E.C. 2 of 7] Create charts your colleagues will envy!

Hey Reader,

Welcome to day two of our Excel journey. I hope you enjoyed yesterday's lesson on the Home ribbon.

Today, we're moving on to the Insert ribbon.

Watch The Lesson

When it comes to the Insert ribbon, creating charts is probably the most important feature you'll use.

Excel offers a wide variety of chart types, but I've noticed many people tend to stick with just pie charts or basic line graphs.

Even worse, I often see people using charts with the default formatting.

That's nothing short of an Excel crime!

But since you're following me, I can't let you continue committing this crime.

Let's change that once and for all.

What many people don't realize is that Excel gives you a ton of customization options.

You're not stuck with the basics, you can create charts that truly bring your data to life.

In today's lesson, I'll teach you how to use other types of charts that will better suit your data.

But we won't stop there.

I'll also show you how to go from the boring, overused default version to stunning, professionally designed charts.

These will make anyone wonder if you created them in Excel!

After you've watched the video, try creating a custom chart with your own data. I'm curious to see what you come up with!

Tomorrow, we'll tackle the Layout ribbon and I'll show you a trick that'll save you tons of time on formatting.

Till Next Time,

Josh

Hey Reader, I'm not a morning person. Like... at all. I need my beauty sleep. And when I wake up, the absolute LAST thing I want to do is exercise. But here's the thing. Our daughter's arriving next week. Which means early mornings are about to become my new reality whether I like it or not. So I've been forcing myself to hit the gym in the mornings. You know, to prepare. And honestly? It's been rough. But I go to this special gym where we all do classes together. Kind of like CrossFit but...

We were on a call with a high-value prospect — more than a prospect, really. A potential partner who could send us dozens of clients. My COO and I were excited. At one point, I asked, “How are things with your controller?” He laughed and said, “He’s a f***ing moron.” The room went quiet. Did we really just hear that? When we wrapped up, I asked my COO what she thought. “I can’t put our team in front of someone who talks that way about his own people,” she said. She was right. If this is how...

It was the most prestigious talk I had ever given. Fifty-five CEOs, all of them doing over $3M in revenue. The community? One of the most elite masterminds, SaaS Academy, founded by the impressive Dan Martell. (If you haven’t read Buy Back Your Time, you absolutely need to.) This talk had to go right. It was my one shot, and I didn’t want to blow it. So I prepared for weeks and weeks with the plan of giving them everything that I had, and more. Teaching Finance & Accounting to 50+ SaaS CEOs...
